Can I use songs in monetized YouTube videos?

Yes, if the song was created while you had an active Creator or Studio plan. Songs made on the Free plan are for personal, non-commercial use, so they are not covered in monetized videos.

Key facts

  • Coverage is decided by your plan at the moment the song is generated.
  • Subscribing later does not cover songs you made before you subscribed.
  • Each covered song can be downloaded with a PDF License Certificate as your record.
  • YouTube's own systems, including Content ID and its disclosure rules, still apply to your video.

What covered use looks like on YouTube

A covered song can be the soundtrack, intro, outro, or background music of original and monetized videos, within GoAISong terms and applicable platform policies.

The same applies to Shorts and to sponsored segments inside your video. Keep prompts generic: describe genre, tempo, mood, and instruments rather than naming a real artist or creator to imitate.

What GoAISong does not control

Content ID claims, monetization review, and YouTube's disclosure rules for AI-generated music are run by YouTube, and they can change independently of GoAISong.

If a third party claims your video, you work with the claimant directly; GoAISong does not mediate platform disputes. Because the AI can produce similar output for different users, keep your prompt, generation date, and certificate together so you can show how the track was made.

What to do next

  1. Subscribe to Creator or Studio before generating the track you will publish.
  2. Generate, compare the two versions, and pick the one that fits your edit.
  3. Download the song, then download its PDF License Certificate from the song menu in My Songs.
